The interns are students in the Multicultural Program at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande.  Past interns are from the Environmental Studies program at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. . MHIC’s college interns help to expand the center’s summer hours and support our MHIC’s community outreach. The Whitman in the Wallowas program which promotes the study of environmental ecology and politics in Wallowa County, includes an afternoon at Maxville touring the site and in the Interpretive Center.

Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center holds it's monthly board meetings via telephone conference and electronic communication, our annual meeting is designed to bring together diverse backgrounds and experiences under one vision and mission.
