Maxville Annual Gathering

SAVE THE DATE: 6TH ANNUAL MAXVILLE GATHERING - June 28th 2014 - Hosted by the Wallowa Band Nez Perce Interpretive Center Join us for a fun-filled day for the whole family! Mule drawn tours, guest storyteller, live music, kids booths, great local food, local vendors and more!

Time: 10 am - 4pm

Place: Wallowa Nez Perce Homeland Site - At the edge of the Wallowa River, 1/8 mile East of Wallowa, Oregon. Federal and private funding purchased the Wallowa Homelands site - a total of 320 acres. We thank the Wallowa Band Nez Perce Center for their generous support!


The Maxville Annual Gathering is a full-day family-friendly event that celebrates the logging history of Wallowa County. There are stories, activities, tours, demonstrations, and competitions based on the history of Maxville held in the City of Wallowa, at Evans Park. 

Last year's 5th Annual Gathering was held on June 29th, 2013 from 9:30am - 4pm. Dr.Olen Cole,Professor at North Carolina University presented the African American Civilian Conservation Corp experience in the West.

Music performed Brann and Lindsey family, local foods and BBQ by Kirk Skovlin, an experienced mule team, haul guided tours of the National registered Historical Compound this year. Historical  demonstrations, silent auction, raffle and new kids activities! Fun for the whole family.
